Or so we've been told by the diet culture, our relatives, magazines, TV shows, influencers.
Remember, every 62 minutes at least one person dies as a result from an eating disorder. Don't skip lunch.

Pink is for boys /2024/
(Found objects, canvas, spray paint)

Visual reflection on the absurdity of gender-typed toys which feed stereotypical gender roles and choices ( of education, martial status, career). Gender-typed toys psychologically affect the development of potential and reinforce social expectations. The sexism hidden behind gender stereotyped toys can be identified by colours, names, activities, functions.

"In general the toys most associated with boys were related to fighting or aggression (wrestlers, soldiers, guns, etc.), and the toys most associated with girls were related to appearance (Barbie dolls and accessories, ballerina costumes, makeup, jewelry, etc.)."

Bulgaria's golden treasure /2024/
Details
(Gold paint, found objects)
"Bulgarian Golden Treasure" is a ready-made installation that addresses the problem of objects that have unintentionally become national symbols or, conversely, have lost their symbolic value as such. The conflict that the objects generate is between utilization and idealization, emptying of meaning and creating a new context."Bulgarian Golden Treasure" is also a reminder that the long-standing image of Bulgarian culture builds itself primarily through traditional artifacts (Thracian golden treasures, icons), permanently excluding any forms of contemporary art from its vision.

FLUX (Varusha south festival 2024)
(site-specific installation, textile threads, architectural environment), 2024
Art installation Flux is a short-term intervention in the appearance of a deserted building - the former Inter-School Center for Vocational Training, and before that a primary school. This artistic intervention is a poetic reading of the loss of memory and meaning, the replacement of the essence and functionality of objects over time. Through a textile installation placed on the front facade of the building, our team aims to emphasize the issue of spaces left behind by the "flow", by "dressing" and visualizing the metaphor of water, which spontaneously "carries away" memory and erases traces. Through the site-specific installation Flux, we hope to draw the attention of festival visitors, as well as local residents, to this iconic building.

A self-portrait of a woman containing 36 small objects
(Found objects, photography), 2023

Modest exploration of the concept of physical existence and perception of self through 36 material items.

36 simple objects that define my womanhood, objects I dislike or like, objects I find repulsive or useful, objects that are kept in my tote bag or found in my wallet, objects of everyday importance or no importance at all, objects that resonate with my identity, objects I leave behind as I go on with my everyday life, objects that will remain intact after I'm gone.
144 minutes
(Materialising time) , 2023

According to the instructions printed on each label, a teabag needs to rest in hot water for approximately 8 minutes until tea is ready to be consumed. For the past 18 days I have spent 144 minutes on preparing tea which sums up in nearly two hours and a half - time imperceptibly taken out of my life span. While acknowledging the many hours people invest in mechanically doing simple and mundane activities, it's the act of doing itself that becomes the measurement of time (time is generally defined as a continued sequence of existence that occurs in irreversible succession).

Farewell, Lenin!(a domestic cult of a totalitarian leader) /2023/
Includes: a photo album found by chance in my grandmother's entryway attic, filled with newspaper clippings - all of them honoring Lenin. The album contains meticulously arranged photos and drawings with the image of the Soviet politician, naive poems and instructive stories dedicated to Lenin - a small intimate collection and a DIY fan club. In our childhood, most of us made similar collections of photos or objects through which we demonstrated our emotional attachment to someone's highly popularized personality - we can easily change the objects of childhood admiration according to the context of the time, but the result will always be the same;
